The Beast of Gevaudan

This was a group project where I was delegated as the character artist. My main focus was Ekaterina plus some side characters.

"Ekaterina Racovitza, the daughter of a Moldavian Voivode, is hold
up during a brutal winter after her entire family is murdered in an attempt to overthrow the Ottoman
in far-away Moldavia. She discovers that La Bête (the Beast) still hunts the agrarian people of the
Gevaudan - sheepherders and farmers - and that the fate of the region is tied to the fate of La Bête.
This haunting world full of devotion to religion as well as the old peasant magic is navigated for Kat
by her loyal companion - a mythical house sprite known in France as La Lutine and in the Ottoman
legends as the Bichura.

Focus on Ekaterina as she tries to survive not only La Bête but the pervasive misery of this
region and the fear that has gripped it and it’s people. For some reason all of those around
her are dying, is she targeted OR is she the bait? Paranoia and Fear hang in the air, nobody is
to be trusted, everyone lives in and is terrified of the shadows. There is a connection to La
Bête, what will that final confrontation look like?"
